Energy Positive
Recent studies have shown that ethanol production provides 34% to 67% more energy than it takes to produce, making it 60% more efficient than gasoline production.
Renewable
The feedstocks used to produce ethanol come from renewable sources (corn, sugar cane, milo, wheat). By using renewable feedstocks to make ethanol, the carbon released by combustion is recycled through the growing of more feedstock and then back into fuel.
Economic Impact
We employ 35 people and have an annual payroll of about $2 million. Because we provide another market for area corn, farmers receive a higher average price for their corn. The farmer owners of WWE receive profits from the plant, which brings more dollars back into the local community.
High Quality Livestock Feed
We provide a local source of Distiller Grain, which lowers the cost of freight for area dairies.
