Menomonie gets E85 pump

January 28, 2008

Paul Harrison, president of Western Wisconsin Energy, and Paul Diemert, manager at Menomonie Farmers Union Cooperative, recently introduced an E85 pump in Menomonie. The motor fuel is a blend of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline.

The E85 pump is located at a Cenex Convenience Store, 2320 Highway 25 N., Menomonie.

"We have been contacted by all kinds of people wondering whether they would be able to purchase E85 produced by the plant," Harrison said. "I can now proudly say 'Yes.' The corn is locally grown by area farms and now the E85 is locally available as well."
